    Wow that is quite spectacular it resembles a miniature volcanic crater, looks like a petrified section of tree or a huge truck tire encrusted with barnacles, cement and sand but what it could actually be is a mystery.

    My guess is that the center portion is a meteorite, and the outer portion is where the heat of the meteorite fused the sand and earth. Cool pic!

    I have no idea. But it looks like the bottom of either a giant mushroom or the rings of a giant tree. But it could also be some naturally forming rock formation. I look forward to the answers.

    My first reaction is to say it is a coral. Is it possible to have a close-up view of the cells? What is the age of the formation you found it in?
