The newest addition to the public transit system in the Truckee Meadows opens to the public in the wee hours of Halloween morning. On October 31, the old CitiCenter terminal will close just after midnight and the next scheduled departure will leave from the brand new 4th Street Station at 1:04 a.m. The CitiCenter terminal becomes history and the 4th Street Station takes over. I went to the official ribbon cutting on Thursday, October 28 and checked out the new terminal. I think it is going to be a great thing for Reno.

From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Halloween, the public is invited to tour the new bus transit station and enjoy Trick or Treat for Transit with free live entertainment, candy and treats. Be sure to see the flying bus art out front. Starting at midnight, Sunday transit rides will be free all day. I've been told that zombies and other ghouls will be allowed to board. The new terminal is at the corner of 4th and Lake Streets.

New 60-foot articulated buses will also debut on Halloween. These are the latest diesel-electric hybrids and will run the RTC RAPID route along Virginia Street between the Meadowood Mall and the new 4th Street Station.
