Bargains Abound at the Book Sale Bonanza

The fall edition of the Washoe County Library semi-annual Book Sale Bonanza is here. Sponsored by the Friends of the Washoe County Library, the event features thousands of items including fiction and non-fiction books, vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, collectibles, Nevada books, and children's books. This is a bargain hunters delight, with prices starting at 50 cents for pocket books and $1 for hardcovers. Collectible and nearly-new books will be individually priced.

The sale starts on Friday, October 29, and runs through Sunday, November 7. Thursday, October 28, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. is preview day for Friends members. If you aren't a member, you can join at the door.

The remaining days are open to the public during these hours:

  • Friday, October 29 (Nevada Day): 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 30: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 31: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Monday through Friday, November 1 - 5: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 6, Half-Price Day: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Does not include collectibles and nearly new books.)
  • Sunday, November 7, Bargain Day: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pick your own bag of books for only $6 (Friends supplies the bag).

The Friends of Washoe County Library Book Sale Bonanza will be at 5205 Mill St. at Edison in Reno (the old Excel Communications building). For more information, call (775) 772-6297.
