Reno is fortunate to have a wonderful public garden like the Wilbur D. May Arboretum. The several acres of native flora and trees from around the world is laced with walking paths, giving people a peaceful place to wander and ponder right in the middle of the city. In fall, the trees and shrubs become a cornucopia of color and you are invited to come share in the spectacle.

The May Arboretum is located in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. On four days in October, the public can join horticulturist Bill Carlos and Arboretum volunteers for free guided fall color walks through the grounds lasting about about an hour. Meet at the May Arboretum Office in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, 1595 N. Sierra St. in Reno. For information, call (775) 785-4153.
