America's Got Talent Live coming to Reno

The TV show America's Got Talent recently aired its final four and picked a #1 winner from among thousands of contestants given a shot at stardom over the course of the season. Coming out on top was singer Michael Grimm from Mississippi, followed in order by Jackie Evancho, Fighting Gravity, and Prince Poppycock. I'm not much of a TV fan, but at this level the talent is top-notch and quite entertaining. There are some amazing performers who didn't get this far, but many of them have lots of potential and will be stars despite not winning this particular contest.

This fall, America's Got Talent Live will be on the road as the first nationwide tour featuring stars from the show. The host will be Jerry Springer. There will be shows in 25 cities, including 8 p.m. in Reno on October 2 at the Reno Events Center. Tickets are available online, at the Reno Events Center Box Office, and the Silver Legacy. Prices start at $39.50, plus any applicable service charge.

Slated to perform are the four finalists and some of the other top finishers and fan favorites - dancing partners Anna and Patryk, singers Christina & Ali, stunt bike rider Jeremy VanSchoonhoven, magician/illusionist Michael Grasso, dance troupe Studio One Young Beast Society, and singer/musician Taylor Mathews.
