People turned out to watch this wildfire, which started on Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010, in the Huffaker Hills of south Reno. Fire crews jumped on it quickly and no structures were seriously threatened. The open space area is near Rattlesnake Mountain, south of McCarran Blvd. and east of Longley Lane. It's one of my favorite areas to hike, but it's not going to be so nice for a while.

This is terrible. I’m sorry that the area was damaged. I just returned from visiting my family’s native Ischia, an island in Italy that is known for its mountains and sea. Often, we witness wildfires in the mountains that are usually started on purpose by people. It’s always a tragedy.
How awful. I can’t believe how many fires there have been this week
