Hot August Nights 2010

Hot August Nights is the biggest Reno event of the year. It's a celebration of everything to do with classic cars, vintage rock 'n roll, and the American era of the 50s and 60s, when cruising, sock hops, and high school proms were all the rage. Classic cars fill the streets, rock 'n roll fills the air, and entertainment galore makes Hot August Nights the premier fun festival in Reno. One of the coolest things about Hot August Nights is that a huge number of the shows and events are free.

Hot August Nights 2010 actually starts up at Lake Tahoe on July 30 with a new event - the South Lake Tahoe Experience. On August 1, the action moves to Reno/Sparks and will be at numerous venues all over the Truckee Meadows - downtown Reno, Victorian Square in Sparks, the Atlantis and Peppermill Casinos, Grand Sierra Resort, and many more. There will be numerous street closures and detours associated with Hot August Nights. Driving and parking around any of the big venues can be a real pain. If you can do it, save yourself some hassle and gas money by using one of the transportation alternatives available in the Reno and Sparks areas, such as RTC buses and Sierra Spirit, Reno's free downtown transit system.
