The big annual plant sale at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum is this Saturday, June 5, from 8 a.m. to noon. This popular event is a chance for local gardeners to save money on plants that grow in the harsh northern Nevada climate while supporting our excellent public garden. There will be a wide variety of native and ornamental plants, vegetables, trees and other plants that are adapted to the climatic challenges of the Truckee Meadows region. Admission is free.

Some of the plants were started by members of the Rancho San Rafael Botanical Society and others were donated by local nurseries. Society members will be on hand to help with plant selection. There is an online Plant Sale Catalog available from the May Arboretum website. For more information, call (775) 785-4153.
