This year, that old saw about April showers bringing May flowers is holding true. Yes, it's finally spring in Reno. Flowers are blooming, grass is growing, birds are singing, and the threat of more frigid temperatures and snowfall seems to have finally faded. It's time to get out and start putting those yards and gardens in order for the warm months ahead. These are chores I actually enjoy because you get tangible rewards in the form of green things growing before your eyes and, if you do a vegetable garden, fresh food for the table.

Getting seeds, plants, supplies, help, and advice is not tough around Reno. We have a great selection of nurseries and garden centers from which all of these things can be obtained. The big box stores like Home Depot and Lowe's have big selections and are good for experienced gardeners. If you're new to the gardening game in northern Nevada, more personalized advice is in order, which can be obtained from one of our locally-owned nurseries and garden centers. It's tricky growing stuff here in the high desert - advice from local experts will help you avoid a lot of mistakes.
