Your Washoe County Library System (WCLS) will be hosting a Summer Reading Program from May 1 to August 1. The 2010 reading program, Make a Splash, will have two age-based themes - Read @ Your Library for younger children and Make Waves @ Your Library for teens. Kids can sign up for this program at any library branch and it's all free. For more information, visit the WCLS website or call a branch near you.

Each library branch will also be presenting a variety of programs during this period. These will include presentations by magician Larry Wilson, Brüka Theatre for Children, Sol' Jibe, the Erika Paul Carlson Trio, storyteller Glenda Bonin, KNPB Planned Giving Seminar, storytimes, and lots more. The library's online calendar of events has dates, branches, and details of everything going on. There is some great stuff for families, children, and adults. Oh, and did I mention, it's all free.
