The site has been formatted to fit the small screens and other modifications have been made for mobile information delivery. For example, the menu has been designed for touch screens and in the event of an emergency situation, emergency announcements will be the first thing you see when accessing the site.
And just how much did this nifty new service cost? According to a City of Reno press release, the answer is nothing. At no extra charge, it was worked into an existing contract with Vision Internet Providers, Inc., an outfit focused on government websites. The mobile site is another way Reno is urging citizens to do more online and help stretch limited (and shrinking) staff resources.
After you have checked out the new mobile website, the City of Reno is asking users to submit feedback and report problems, offer suggestions for improvement, tell about what you like, and what you don't like.
