Very unique. I’m guessing between the chills and thaws in inverted one or more times. Great shot!!!

How bizarre!! Maybe it fell from something higher up and somehow caught on the string? Happy WW!

No idea (I’m not very up on icicles these days), but it sure looks cool. Great choice for WW.

That is an amazing icicle! I’ll go with Sukhmandir’s theory–sounds good to me. Great capture, Stan :-)

That icicle definitely defies the laws of physics. If it thawed enough to fall, why didn’t it go all the way to the ground? Here’s my theory: It fell from a surface just out of the picture’s frame. The odd shape made it fall in a circular fashion rather than straight down. It didn’t have much momentum, and when it touched the half-thawed wire/string, it stuck.

Oh, Cool!! An icicle that melted off something above the wire enough to spin around and dangle upside down! :D

What a clever find…you have a good eye! Is it hanging on a laundry line? Must be cold…

I have no idea how this happened. But I’m sad to see more ice. Isn’t spring arriving?
