End of the season, with the big storm we just had and more coming? Is it really warming up? suppose the reservoirs will be filling even faster with snow melt.
Not to worry about thin ice. Those guys are clearing ice off a big slab of cement. It’s a yearly thing when Reno’s downtown ice skating rink is dismantled and put away until next winter. After February, it’s just not cold enough to keep it frozen enough for skating.
I’m glad to hear that the rink is on a cement slab, I was a bit concerned about those sweepers out there for a minute there. Cool rink though, what fun to skate outside.
Phew! I too thought it was river or pond. Yes, the contrast between their clothing and the snow/ice says it all. We woke up to another inch of snow, but it should all melt in a day or two.
Having heard all too much about people falling through ice in Erie, PA’s bay and in Lake Erie, you wouldn’t catch me out there as this ice is melting, either!!

They’re sweeping up a melting river? that is not a job I would want! Happy WW!
Sweeping off the snow? They’ve got a big job ahead of them.

I love the contrast of the tshirts with the snow and ice. And I totally agree with Julia–I’d be nervous about thin ice!
they need bigger tools…

Nice rhythm to their figures. I bet you’re not too sorry to see the Rink go, if it means warmer weather.
Oh I would not want to be doing that, especially when you can see there are holes in the ice. Happy WW!

What a great photo! It has me feeling as though spring is right around the corner. Ooohh, I hope so!
Great photo! I wouldn’t have guessed that Reno was cold enough to keep an outdoor hockey rink going.
Love it. Wish I had taken it.
Great photo! Happy Wordless Wednesday!
