One of the biggest thrills of the 2010 Winter Games was the hockey game for the gold between Canada and the United States. After skating to a 2-2 tie during regulation time, the Canadians put it away in overtime when Sidney Crosby slapped the winning shot past U.S. goalie Ryan Miller. I think the Canadians would have counted the whole Vancouver Winter Olympics a success if this was their only gold medal, but in fact they won more than anyone else. Here's a summary of the top five countries in the medal department...
| Country | Gold | Silver | Bronze | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States | 9 | 15 | 13 | 37 |
| Germany | 10 | 13 | 7 | 30 |
| Canada | 14 | 7 | 5 | 26 |
| Norway | 9 | 8 | 6 | 23 |
| Austria | 4 | 6 | 6 | 16 |
