If you haven't seen The Woman with the Veil currently on exhibit at the Nevada Museum of Art (NMA), you are missing something rarely available in Reno, or anywhere else in the United States for that matter. The exhibit consists of a single painting by Renaissance master Raphael* and words from me cannot describe the experience of viewing the painting in person. Art like this is no longer created.

This Thursday, February 25, admission to the NMA and The Woman with the Veil exhibit will be free, through the generosity of Arte ITALIA in Reno, an organization dedicated to the exploration and conservation of Italian culture. Between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., docents will be available to provide information. At 6 p.m., the vocal ensemble Reno Early Music will perform Italian madrigal music from the period.

The Woman with the Veil will be on exhibit through March 21. NMA hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The Nevada Museum of Art is located at 160 W. Liberty Street in downtown Reno. For more information, call (775) 329-3333.
