I'm happy to relay a little good news on the Washoe County education front. The Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology (AACT) has been consolidated at one location, offering a high school diploma and serving students in grades 9 through 12. The campus expansion brings all of the satellite programs together with an enrollment potential of 765 students. The $15 million in funding was provided by a voter-approved 2002 bond issue.

AACT is a career and technology high school, not a traditional high school or charter school. In addition to the standard high school curriculum, students can engage in a variety of classes designed to teach job skills in a career and technical oriented environment.
