This plaque marks the location where the Mizpah Hotel stood for 84 years. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and on the Reno City Register of Historic Places in 1999. On Halloween night in 2006, an arson fire gutted the Mizpah and claimed 12 lives. After some talk about renovation, the building was declared a total loss and razed in 2007. On what corner is the plaque located? Hint: It's in one of downtown Reno's redevelopment zones.

My last Where and What poll asked about a unique piece of sculpture in Reno. Half the respondents got it right and half missed. The correct answer the National Monument to the Basque Sheepherder in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park.
