Neighborhood Advisory Boards (NABs) do just what the name implies - advise the Reno City Council and other city boards on issues, projects, and policies affecting their neighborhoods. The goal is to promote a positive relationship between residents and their city government.

One of the things NABs do is recommend financial support for various community groups through Community Pride Grants (CPGs). For example, the Reno City Council recently approved a request from Ward One and Ward Four North Valleys NABs for $6,700 in CPG funds to VSA Arts of Nevada. Another approved CPG request was from Ward Two Central and Ward Three NABs for $2,480 to the Strengthening Families Program.

Reno has eight NABs organized around city council election wards. NAB members are appointed by the city council and each NAB consists of between 9 and 13 members. Membership is voluntary and terms are two years. If you are interested in serving on your NAB, call Reno Direct at (775) 334-INFO (4636) or get more information from the City of Reno.
