The Knitting Factory Concert House (The Knit) opened downtown Reno's newest music venue on New Year's Eve with a show headlined by The Sounds of Seattle. Most nights through January and beyond are booked with a combination of touring bands and a big helping of local talent. A sampling of upcoming shows includes Switchfoot, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, The Fab Four (The Ultimate Beatles Tribute), Alice In Chains, and Travis Tritt. Some local bands taking the stage are Sol Jibe, Drinking With Clowns, Jelly Bread, Mojo Green, Whatitdo, and Coop da Loop.

Most shows at The Knit are for general audiences, though there are exceptions and you should check ahead of time if in doubt. Prices look pretty reasonable compared to some of the bigger stages around the area. Depending on the performer, you'll pay anywhere from about $15 on up to as much as $100 if you go for the full VIP seating treatment. There is food available inside and a bar service area for those 21+ with ID. Get details about how everything works and ticket information from The Knit FAQ.

The Knitting Factory also has locations in Brooklyn, Boise, Spokane, and Hollywood. In Reno, you'll find it at 211 N. Virginia Street. The actual entrance is around the corner and behind the building, off 2nd Street in Fulton Alley. Call (775) 323-5648 for more information.
