The arts in Reno just get better all the time. Starting on Saturday, January 9, the Nevada Museum of Art (NMA) will be hosting an exhibit consisting of a single painting by Renaissance master Raphael* - The Woman with the Veil. Preceding the public opening, there will be a talk given by David Alan Brown, curator of Italian painting at the National Gallery of Art and one of the world's foremost scholars of the Renaissance period. He will be speaking about Raphael's life and the masterpiece you can see on exhibit. Admission to Brown's 11 a.m. presentation is $12 general, $10 for NMA members. Tickets are available online and at the NMA admission desk.

The Woman with the Veil will be on exhibit through March 21. Also at the NMA through January 17 is Rembrandt: The Embrace of Darkness and Light. It's a rare treat indeed to have two Renaissance masters visiting Reno at the same time. NMA hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The Nevada Museum of Art is located at 160 W. Liberty Street in downtown Reno. For more information, call (775) 329-3333.
