Waste Management, our local purveyor of all things trash and garbage, is having it's third of four annual "Free Dump Weekends" this Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4. Bring proof of Washoe County residency and you'll be able to get rid of big stuff like household appliances and furniture. Please use this service and help cut down on illegal dumping in our beautiful great outdoors. The site is Waste Management's transfer station at 1390 E. Commercial Row in Reno, near the corner with Sutro Street and on the south side of the railroad tracks. Hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Here's a list of some of the acceptable items:

- Hot Water Heaters
- Stoves
- Washers/Dryers
- Dishwashers
- Sofas
- Chairs
- Mattresses
- Box Springs
