Since Burning Man started playing on the Black Rock playa years ago, a variety of Reno and Sparks emporiums have evolved to supply the varied needs of those who reside in Black Rock City during festival week. From costumes, to dust goggles, to glow sticks, to camo nets for sun shade structures, these stores have what it takes for a successful burn.

As veteran burners know, what you need to bring is just about everything. The Burning Man people sell coffee and ice - that's it. There is nothing else you can buy and selling stuff is prohibited. Showing up unprepared and panhandling isn't much appreciated. Before you head out to the playa, though, you'll be able to score whatever you need right here in the Truckee Meadows.

Burning Man Tickets - If you get to Reno by Friday, August 28 and still don't have tickets, your almost last hope is The Melting Pot at 1049 S. Virginia Street. As long as they last, they'll be $300 a pop, cash only, until close of business, which is 6 p.m. Out at Black Rock City, tickets will be sold at the gate until midnight on September 3. Bring $360 cash or a credit card that will absorb the hit.
