Reno-Tahoe Blues Fest: The 5th Annual Reno-Tahoe Blues Fest will be at Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno, from August 14 through 16. For more information and tickets, visit the Reno-Tahoe Blues Fest schedule or call (775) 857-3378.
Pride in the Park Festival: Reno's Gay Pride Festival will be on Saturday, August 15, in Wingfield Park. The festivities are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Musical entertainment will include headliner Clint Crisher. Admission is $5, with children 12 and under free with a paying adult.
Reno Aces Baseball: The Reno Aces start an eight game home stand Friday night against the Round Rock Express. The Friday game starts at 7:05 p.m. and will feature an after-game fireworks show. I haven't managed to get to many Aces games, but I'll be at this one.
Riverwalk Merchants Wine Walk: The Wine Walk, on the third Saturday of every month from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., is the best excuse I know of to get acquainted with the restaurants, shops, and their proprietors in the Riverwalk District and the greater Truckee River Arts District.
Mastercraft Pro Wakeboard Tour: The lake at Sparks Marina is the site of this event, from August 14 through 16. There are lots of good shoreline spots to watch the pros compete in this final event of the series. The winner of the overall Tour title will be determined following the Sparks event. The Tour Awards ceremony will be on Sunday, August 16 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Celebrity Showroom of John Ascuaga's Nugget.
