So far, Reno has embraced its new Triple-A baseball team. Playing in a brand new downtown stadium, the Reno Aces have been drawing an average of about 6500 fans to their home games, significantly exceeding the number team owners have said are needed to break even. I'm pleased to see this new venture succeeding, but not really surprised. The stadium is beautiful and going to a game is a total entertainment experience, well beyond just watching baseball. It's family friendly and affordable - general admission starts at less than the price of a movie at one of our multiplex theaters.

There are still plenty of games to enjoy before the season winds up in September. An eight game home stand against the Round Rock Express and Albuquerque Isotopes (you've got to love these team names) runs from August 14th through the 21st. The finale is a seven game series from September 1st to the 7th against the Sacramento River Cats and the Fresno Grizzlies. The 2009 Reno Aces schedule has more details.

You can purchase single-game tickets in person at the stadium box office, online from RenoAces.com, or by phone at (775) 334-4700. Single-game ticket prices range from $7 to $29. If you can't be there in person, Reno Aces games can be heard on Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM.
