Children ages 12 and under are invited to join the Sparks Parks and Recreation Department for their annual Paddle, Pedal, Patter Kids' Triathlon starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 25 at Sparks Marina Park. Kids will kayak or swim, bike, and run on a course around the park. This will be a fun introduction to the sport of triathlon in a positive, non-competitive environment. All participants will receive a triathlon medal, goody bag, t-shirt, and a chance to win raffle prizes.
Pre-registration will be held through July 23 at the Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Blvd. The entry fee is $14 per child. Race day registration, from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., is $16. Sparks Marina Park is at 300 Howard Drive. For more information, call (775) 353-2385.
