What a cool looking photo!
I am all patriotic this week: http://tinyurl.com/m8mkfn
I came with in inches of having one of those unload a me a couple years back. Sorry to see the fires have begun already this season!
Gorgeous shot. I love the color of the smoke? Foam? Water?
I hope it was part of an airshow, and doesn’t mean that the earth below it is burning.
We had just enough rain down south to cover the hills in greenery that has now become fuel for this fire season. I am not looking forward to September at all!
Thanks for sharing. Happy WW to ya!
Stunning shot! I want to know the story behind it. Where were you when you took it and is it a demonstration or the real thing?
Wow. What a cool photo. I have never seen a plane with colored smoke.
Whoa!!!!!!!!
The “smoke” is a slurry of water and fire retardant. It’s red so firefighters can see where it hit after the drop. The photo was taken during a demonstration put on by the Nevada BLM for the media, north of the air tanker base at Stead Field near Reno. During a real wildfire, getting this close would not be possible.
that is very cool, what a great capture!
