Here is just about the best entertainment deal in Reno. Summer Session 2009 at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) offers a wide variety of free events during the summer months, including Watermelon Wednesday summer concerts on the Quad, Tuesday movies at the Joe Crowley Student Union plaza, and a summer chamber music series in the Nightingale Concert Hall. You are welcome to bring a picnic to the outdoor activities or you may purchase food from a variety of services inside the student union. All events are free and open to the community. For more information about summer events on the UNR campus, call the Summer Session Office at (775) 784-4652.

Speaking of movies, there are other venues around Reno and Lake Tahoe offering free movie nights during the summer months, including Artown, the Grand Sierra Resort, and the Village at Squaw Valley.
