"Closing the three offices will save the department and, by extension the tax payer, about $1 million by 2012," Director Edgar Roberts said. "We don't anticipate a spike in wait times as a result of the closures as the technicians who work in the offices slated to close will be assigned to other offices."
Fortunately, many routine services like license and registration renewals can be accomplished online at the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles website. The site is actually pretty good, so I recommend logging on and researching the service you need before going to the office in person. You may be able to save yourself some time and gas money.
