Four art galleries operated by the City of Reno have new exhibits on display, with free admission to all. The shows will be on display from June 1 through July 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Metro Gallery (City Hall, 1 East First Street) - An exhibition of large scale oil paintings by artist Annie Hooker. In "TimeSpace Collapse", the paintings are figurative and photo based renderings, essentially explorations into the notions of chronological time, nostalgia, consciousness, and general relativity. They challenge the viewer to see moments from the past, present and future simultaneously.

Gallery West (McKinley Arts & Culture Center, 925 Riverside Drive) - An exhibition of recent sculptures called "The Stone Family: Portrait of an American Family" by artist PAN Pantoja. Each of the rock sculptures are figurative and represent a different member of the family.

Gallery East (McKinley Arts & Culture Center, 925 Riverside Drive) - "Time Period" is an iconography of time, space and our orientation in these elements. When the artist found that many of her pieces ended up looking like clocks, she began to work in antique clock cases to amplify the time nexus.

Southside Gallery (Southside Cultural Center, 190 East Liberty Street) - Showing "Ken Volz's Photography" most recent suite of work. Volz has always been amazed at the incredible nature that he sees in his everyday interactions outdoors. Through the medium of photography, Volz is interested in capturing those moments in nature, fleeting and unique.
