Whitewater Park at Rock Park is Opening in Sparks

Rock Park in Sparks is reopening this Saturday, June 6, after having been closed since last July. During that time, it has been transformed from a somewhat seedy old park into a sparkling facility with new shade and play structures, better parking, improvements to the river trail, new restrooms, and the crowning touch, a whitewater park on the Truckee River with shore access and five drop pools for kayaking, tubing, and rafting.

Following a "Splash Ceremony" and ribbon cutting at 11 a.m., the Whitewater Park at Rock Park will open to the public at noon. It is located at 1515 Rock Boulevard, just south of Greg Street. Come on down and enjoy this newest addition to the great parks we have right here in both Reno and Sparks. For additional information, call (775) 353-2376.
