A fly fishing class specifically for women (age 18 and older) is being offered through the Sparks Parks & Recreation Department. The instructor will be Richard Dickerson, who has been fly fishing for over 39 years and is the author of the Nevada Angler's Guide: Fish Tails in the Sagebrush. The class is scheduled for two days, May 16 and 17, and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. First day instruction will cover fly fishing tackle, casting, and on-the-water presentation. The second day will be a session of real fly fishing at a local fishing hole (participants need a current Nevada fishing license).

Those interested should register soon - class size is limited to eight students. Register by calling (775) 353-2385, or online at the Sparks Parks & Recreation website. The cost is $60 for Sparks residents, $72 for everyone else.
