It's called "Fresh Air, New Ideas" and it's your chance to talk personally with some of Reno's City Council members in a relaxed, informal setting. The idea of meeting with Reno residents and talking about their concerns, away from the confines of government offices, was started by councilwomen Jessica Sferrazza and Sharon Zadra. They have hosted lunch hour strolls with citizens on the University of Nevada, Reno campus and along the Truckee River. Both councilwomen report that the walks have been productive in getting people to voice their concerns and share hopes and ideas for the city. Topics discussed have included the city budget, sewers, renewable energy, and the defunct Moana pool.

In lieu of Zadra, councilman Dave Aiazzi will join Jessica Sferrazza for the next lunch time walk, from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 11. If you would like to join in, meet the group at NV Energy, by the flagpole next to the customer parking lot off Campus Way. It's one block east of S. Virginia Street and Neil Road, behind the Home Depot store. For more information, or to suggest a place to walk, call Reno Direct at (775) 334-INFO.
