The first case of swine flu in Nevada is right here in Washoe County, according to the Washoe County Health District. The case involves a young child who is reportedly not in danger and recovering. Nevada is now among 10 states reporting confirmed cases of the disease.
Despite all the hype, I don't think going into panic mode is warranted. Simply learning more about what's involved is the best way to alleviate fear and assess the real danger for yourself. Go to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for up-to-date swine flu information on a national scale. The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services is also a source for swine flu information.
