Here's your chance to get rid of those old TVs and other electronics in an environmentally responsible manner. This event will be held where the Park Lane Mall used to be, on the corner of Plumb Lane and Virginia Street, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2. Electronic products like computers, printers, and cell phones will be accepted free of charge, but there will be a $15 fee for TV sets at the event. Participation is restricted to Washoe County residents. If you are a business, please don't bring a huge amount of stuff expecting a free dumping service. Household appliances will not be accepted.
You can save $5 by buying a $10 TV voucher ahead of time from Whole Foods Market on S. Virginia Street, or New2u Computers on Glendale Ave. in Sparks. For more information, contact New2ucomputers at (775) 329-1126, or Jason Geddes, City of Reno Environmental Service Administrator, at (775) 334-3311.
