Reno Earth Day Celebration at Idlewild Park.

Reno's Idlewild Park is the setting for Earth Day 2009 on Sunday, April 19, and admission is free. The day will feature music on a biofuels-powered stage, children's activities, food, and booths with earth-friendly goods and services. Earth Day activities will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A free shuttle service will run to Idlewild Park from nearby Reno High School, where the parking is also free. If you ride a bike or skateboard, free valet service will be offered by the Reno Bike Project. Dogs are not allowed at Earth Day.

North Lake Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival - On Saturday, April 18, the North Lake Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival will be at the Village at Squaw Valley USA, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The largest environmental event in the region, The Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival provides an opportunity to learn about recycling, composting, alternative energy, sustainability, watershed and forest health, and reducing our carbon footprint.
