The 17th Annual Mardi Gras Food and Wine Tasting is a benefit for the Reno Rotary Foundation. Money raised goes toward local charities dedicated to improving health, supporting education, and alleviating poverty. It's put on by, you guessed it, the Rotary Club of Reno.
The party will be on Fat Tuesday, February 24, in the Reno Ballroom, 50 E. 4th Street. It starts at 6 p.m. and goes till 9 p.m. If you go, you'll get to taste a variety of wines, and sample delicacies and desserts from fine area restaurants. There will also be a silent auction and 50-50 cash raffle. Tickets are $55 per person and can be purchased by calling (775) 828-9777. If you prefer, tickets can also be purchased online.
