Rink on the River, Reno's downtown ice skating venue, will be closing a week earlier than originally announced. The last day of the 2008-2009 season will be President's Day, February 16. A City of Reno press release cited declining use as the reason, and blamed that on the unseasonably warm weather we've had since the calendar clicked over to 2009.

Hours for the President's Day weekend will be as follows:

  • Saturday, February 14: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
  • Sunday, February 15: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Monday, February 16: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Rink on the River is in downtown Reno at the corner of First and Virginia Streets. Note that ATM and credit cards are not accepted for Rink admission or skate rentals - bring cash or a check. For additional information, call Noah at (775) 334-2262.
