Local, state, and federal government offices will be closed on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 19th. It's also a holiday for Washoe County Schools. In the Reno area, a number of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day events and celebrations are planned. On Sunday at 3 p.m., there will be a memorial service at Reno's Second Baptist Church. On Monday, activities for children and families will be held at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. The 22nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Dinner will start at 6 p.m. on Monday evening, at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks.
