Winter Trails Day, on Saturday, January 10, is a great opportunity to learn more about safe and fun family recreation in our nearby snowy mountains. There are numerous free organized events from which to choose.

The closest place is Tahoe Meadows, on the Mt. Rose Highway between Incline Village and the Mt. Rose ski area. Starting at 10 a.m., the Tahoe Rim Trail Association is hosting a day of snow oriented activities which will include guided snowshoe walks for people of all abilities, winter safety clinics, and hot chocolate and treats from Starbucks. Several ski areas in the vicinity will also be holding free events - Kirkwood, Royal Gorge, Northstar, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Tahoe Cross Country, and Bear Valley.
