As they say in the weather business, "The storm door is open." According to the National Weather Service, the next Reno snowfall will start this evening and continue into Friday, giving us a few inches on top of what's already on the ground. It's going to stay cold, too, with highs hovering around freezing and lows going down to single digits. After a brief break, we'll get it again on Sunday and Monday. Before complaining too much, remember that we need the moisture after two dry years. We can all help each other out by just slowing down and leaving in plenty of time to get where we're going.

The forecast is calling for Lake Tahoe area ski resorts to get around a foot of new snow, and non-skiers are going to have copious amounts covering the sledding hills at our snow play areas. Before venturing forth, put those chains in the car and update yourself with the latest weather forecast and highway conditions information.
