Construction on Reno's new baseball stadium is moving along on schedule, thanks in part to continuing mild fall weather. Most of the concrete work is done and the structural steel for the main stadium structure is almost completed. You can now see a baseball stadium emerging from what started as a vacant lot in February. Next up are the scoreboard, other signage structures, and roofing for the auxiliary buildings around the playing field. It's really looking like we'll hear the cry of "Play ball!" come spring of 2009. If you want to get a real-time look at the stadium construction, visit my

The Reno Ace's home opener is scheduled for April 17, 2009, against the Salt Lake City Bees. The Aces recently released their 2009 home game schedule, a sure sign that the team's management is confident the stadium will be ready and the season will start as planned.
