After being under construction all summer and fall, West Street Market will be having its grand opening this Saturday in the form of a Holiday Fest. Most of the inside stores and shops, housed in several historic old buildings a half block from the Truckee River, will be open for the party. The event goes from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include music from performers such as Bella Voce, James Cavanaugh, Kate Cotter, Reno Jazz Orchestra, CeCe Gable, and more. Check the Holiday Fest Schedule for a complete listing of events. It's also part of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada's Annual Holiday Food Drive, so bring canned goods to donate. Free validated parking is available right around the corner in the Parking Gallery.

New West Street Market tenants will be the West Street Wine Bar, Brickhouse Bakery, Burger Me, Earthly Delights, Nikos Greek Kitchen, Nutty Boy, Se7en Teahouse and Bar, La Marenda, Nevada EcoNet, Great Basin Basket, Downtown Market Place, Jada's Jewels, Silver Trends, and Reno eNVy.

I attended the opening and came away with some West Street Market pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Riverwalk Holiday Sip & Shop - This special holiday wine walk coincides with the opening of downtown Reno's West Street Market. There will be free family events all day. The wine walk includes over 20 Riverwalk District merchants. For $20, you get a wine glass and holiday discount card (must be 21). For more information, call (775) 825-WALK.

Holiday at the Lear - Come to the Lear Theater from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for this free family holiday event. There will be cider and hot chocolate, along with musical entertainment by MasterWorks Chorale, the Tahoe Players, and more. Following the performances, the Lear will be lit up for the holidays. Please bring non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. The Lear Theater is at 501 Riverside Drive in Reno. For more information, call (775) 786-2278.
