It's a first for Nevada's capital - ice skating in Carson City this winter. The Arlington Square Ice Rink will be open from December 4 to February 16. The rink is in dowtown Carson City on the corner of N. Carson and Spear Streets in the Carson Nugget parking lot, between Cactus Jack's and the Nevada State Museum. It's part of Carson City's ongoing series of activities and events designed to bring people to the city center.

Normal hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be variations during the holidays, so check the holiday schedule to make sure the rink will be open when you want to skate. Admission is $7 for ages 13 and over, $5 for ages 3 to 12. Skate rental is $2.

The Arlington Square Ice Rink and heated pavilion space are available for private parties and group events. For more information and to check availability, call (775) 291-9446.
