Actually, it's the times during which citizens can obtain official records of these events that have been modified. The Washoe County Vital Statistics Office, where you get birth and death certificates, has instituted a schedule of reduced hours due to staff shortages in the Washoe County District Health Department. Until further notice, this office is now open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Vital Statistics Office is part of the Washoe County District Health Department, 1001 E. Ninth Street, Building B, Reno. The office is on the first floor. For more information, call (775) 328-2456.
