Our fine fall weather is finally slipping away. By the time you read this, a couple of winter storms may have deposited some new snow on the slopes at nearby Lake Tahoe ski resorts. It's been mighty sparse so far, but the weather pattern looks to be finally turning in favor of those who want to get out and recreate in the white stuff, as well as those who depend on it as a necessary condition for doing business. With this in mind, here's what the downhill ski resorts are currently saying about their opening dates. Remember, these dates are dependent on snow and weather conditions and could change accordingly. If you are heading up to ski, or traveling in the mountains for other reasons during the Thanksgiving weekend, check highway conditions and the weather forecast before hitting the road. If it's going to be nasty, you should know what you're likely to get and be prepared.
