This Thanksgiving, the Nevada Humane Society is urging citizens to remember the animals as well as the people who have been adversely affected by hard economic times. They are dealing with an influx of animals abandonded because their owners can no longer afford to keep them. During their Food Drive, from November 19th through the 26th, the Humane Society is asking for donations of non-perishable and unopened dog or cat food. It only takes a little to help keep the animals properly fed while they await new homes.

There are two places where you can drop off food:

Main Adoption Center, 2825 Longley Lane, Reno
Sunday - Friday: 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
(775) 856-2000

Satellite Adoption Center, 3652 S. Virginia St., Unit C-3, Reno (next to the Atlantis)
Every day: 12 noon - 6 p.m.
(775) 379-9433

The Nevada Humane Society is a non-profit, charitable organization that operates a no-kill shelter in the Washoe County Regional Animal Services facility, 2825 Longley Lane, Reno, NV 89520. Call (775) 856-2000 for more information.
