For people a little rusty in the job search department, there will be human resource professionals to assist with information on topics such as applications and resumes, career options and counseling, personal finance, and improving job hunting skills. Also on hand will be representatives of individual and family support services available to help those needing assistance during this economically troubled time.
According to a City of Reno press release, "The purpose of Expo is to utilize the community connections and resources of the Reno Redevelopment Agency to connect job seekers to potential employment as well as provide resources that can hone job hunting skills, provide expertise in coping skills, or help in connecting to programs, services or agencies that can offer financial or other assistance. This endeavor is part of the Reno Redevelopment Agency’s mission to retain or create jobs in Reno."

According to a City of Reno press release, over 7,000 people attended the Job Fair and Expo. I’ll go on record commending the City of Reno’s Redevelopment Agency for sponsoring this event, and also the over 50 participating businesses that were there offering employment opportunities. It’s a nice example of government and business working together to help people in the community.
