What a difference a week makes. Last Friday, it was freezing cold and snowing in Reno. Today it's in the mid-70s and sunny, like it's supposed to be. If you've got outdoor things to do, this is going to be a perfect weekend to get out and about. If you have kids and don't yet have a weekend plan, it will be a fine time to take them to a local pumpkin patch for some Halloween fun.

The two big pumpkin patches are Ferrari Farms, on Mill Street in Reno, a block east of Rock Blvd., and Toll House, in south Reno at 12185 S. Virginia Street. Both are open daily through October 31 and feature lots of fun activities for children. If you still need a pumpkin for a jack-o-lantern, both patches have a huge selection. If pumpkin patches aren't your thing, there are lots more Halloween activities around the area, including haunted houses, spooky story telling, ghost walks, and parties for adults only.

Great information. Carving the Jack-O-Lanterns is one of the most fun things about Halloween.
