Register to Vote - Deadline is Today

The deadline to register to vote for the upcoming 2008 General Election is today, October 14. If you are new to the Silver State, have recently moved, have changed your name, or have changed party affiliation, go register as a new Nevada voter or update your information to make sure your vote will count in 2008. I don't need to tell you that this is the most important election in a generation.

You must register in person at this point. To do so, go to the Registrar of Voters Office, 1001 E. Ninth St., Bldg. A, Rm. 135, Reno. The office will be open until 9 p.m. on October 14.

Nevada is one of 34 states that permit early voting. In Washoe County, we can cast our ballots for the 2008 General Election on any of 14 days specified for early voting, from October 18 through October 31. Unlike Election Day when you must vote at a specified polling place in your precinct, you can early vote at any of numerous locations.
