John McCain's Reno appearance on Thursday has been scrubbed. He was to speak at the same White House Conference on North American Wildlife Policy which President Bush was scheduled to address on Friday. His campaign cited scheduling issues as the reason for the cancellation.
I said Bush was to talk at the White House Conference because he, too, has bailed. VP Dick Cheney is to be his replacement. I've heard no reason for the switch, but suspect it may have something to do with a little economic unrest currently roiling the political pond in Washington.
